PROGRAMS
USVI Small Business Environmental
Assistance Program
THE MISSION
of the Virgin Islands
Small Business Environmental Assistance Program
(SBEAP) is to help small business owners participate in rule development and
comply with clean air rules and regulations in the most cost-effective way
possible. We help small business operators find out which rules apply to
their operations, how to meet requirements, how to keep records, and how to
obtain financing for pollution control equipment at the best available
terms.
The Small Business Environmental Assistance Program Office provides services
free of charge and acts as an advocate for small businesses. SBEAP
recognizes the important role that small business plays in the territory's
economic vitality and growth. Small and medium-sized businesses employ over
5 thousand people in the US Virgin Islands, and have been one of the key
sources for new jobs over the past decade. At the same time, emissions from
thousands of small businesses contribute to our air pollution problem.
